๐ About this Book
A dark and addictive psychological thriller duology from Lisa Jewell, beginning with The Family Upstairs and continuing with The Family Remains.
In The Family Upstairs, Libby Jones receives a letter on her twenty-fifth birthday informing her that she has inherited an abandoned mansion in Chelsea. What should be life-changing good news quickly becomes unsettling when she discovers the disturbing history of the house and the mysterious deaths that happened there decades earlier.
As Libby searches for answers about her biological family, the story moves between past and present, slowly revealing a household overtaken by manipulation, obsession, control and secrets.
The Family Remains returns to the people connected to that house and explores what happened after its shocking revelations. Old secrets resurface, new mysteries emerge, and the consequences of the past refuse to stay buried.
Together, the two books create one twisted family story filled with missing people, disturbing relationships, hidden identities and long-buried secrets.

โค๏ธ Why Sumaia Recommends It
Lisa Jewell is so good at making a family drama feel quietly terrifying.
I love how these books slowly reveal what really happened inside that house. There are so many damaged characters, secrets and complicated relationships that you are constantly trying to work out who you can trust.
The Family Upstairs pulls you into the mystery, while The Family Remains gives you more of the aftermath and answers surrounding these characters.
Dark, strange, messy and completely addictive.
