This is one of those Kristin Hannah books that completely stays with you.
Elsa is such a powerful character. Watching her grow from someone who doubts her own worth into a woman willing to fight fiercely for her children was heartbreaking and beautiful. The hardship in this book is relentless, but underneath all of it there is so much courage, love, and hope.
I especially loved the focus on motherhood, resilience, and the strength of women. It is emotional, painful, and sometimes very hard to read, but that is exactly why it hits so deeply.
Definitely one of my favorite Kristin Hannah novels.
