Han Kang is not an easy author to read, but that is exactly what makes her work so powerful.
Both books are disturbing in completely different ways. The Vegetarian feels strange, intimate, and almost claustrophobic, while Human Acts is much more openly heartbreaking and brutal.
What I love about Han Kang is how much she can say without overexplaining anything. Her writing is quiet, but the emotions underneath it are enormous.
This set is for readers who want literature that challenges them and stays in their mind long after they finish.
