๐ About this Book
When Daphne turns seventy, she decides she has spent quite enough time hiding away from the world. Her solution is to join a newly formed senior citizensโ social club at a London community center, where she meets a wonderfully chaotic collection of people who are anything but ready to behave their age.ย
The group is run by Lydia, who is struggling with her own changing life, and soon crosses paths with Ziggy, an eighteen-year-old single father trying to finish school while caring for his baby daughter. When the community center is threatened with closure, this unlikely group bands together to save it, while secrets, questionable decisions, stolen goods, a mischievous dog, and more than a little trouble pile up around them.
Warm, funny, and full of personality, this is a story about friendship, second chances, growing older without disappearing, and finding your people at any stage of life.

โค๏ธ Why Sumaia Recommends It
โ โ โ โ โ
This is exactly the kind of uplifting contemporary fiction I love when I want something funny but still meaningful.
The older characters absolutely steal the show. They are messy, outspoken, stubborn, and completely uninterested in becoming invisible just because society thinks they should behave a certain way. I loved the unlikely friendships and how the humor sits alongside more serious themes of loneliness, aging, confidence, and starting again.
It has so much heart without becoming overly sentimental.
