This is a much darker take on King Arthur than the usual heroic legend, and that is exactly what makes it interesting. I like that Nimue is placed at the centre of the story instead of being treated as a side character. There is magic, violence, political conflict and a heroine slowly discovering just how powerful she really is. Very much a “the old legend, but make it chaotic” situation.
